Rivian Plans Fulton Market Showroom

Electric truck maker Rivian, which just raised $2.65 billion, plans to open a showroom in a building at 932 W. Randolph St., a couple of blocks east of McDonald’s headquarters, Crain’s Chicago Business reported. The Fulton Market dealership would be among the first retail locations in the country for the company, which expects to deliver the first of its trucks and sport-utility vehicles this year.

Irvine, CA-based Rivian has already revealed plans for a showroom at a former movie theater in Laguna Beach, CA. In Fulton Market, Rivian would move into a former MB Financial bank branch that Chicago-based L3 Capital acquired in 2019.

L3 is redeveloping the three-story building into mixed-use property, with retail on the ground floor and office or retail space on the second and third floors, according to a brochure from CBRE, which has been marketing space for lease.
