Rice Village Welcomes New Tenants
Historic retail center Rice Village, located southwest of downtown Houston, will soon sport three new retail tenants. Steel City Pops Drybar and Sixty Vines signed leases with owner Rice University, and its development/management partner, Trademark Property Co.
Specifically:
- Steel City Pops, a gourmet popsicle shop, signed for 923 square feet, and will open in late summer 2018
- Hair care chain Drybar will occupy 1,800 square feet
- Restaurant and wine bar Sixty Vines, the first in Houston, will occupy 8,703 square feet, which once held a Gymboree
The leases follow Amherst Street’s recent transformation, stretching from Kirby to Kelvin Drives. Recent openings along Amherst include Shake Shack, Shop Rice Owls, SusieCakes and Starbucks. Rice Village, an outdoor shopping, dining and entertainment district, opened in 1938.
