EPT Land Communities will add a hotel and events center to its 300-acre Montecillo development in West El Paso. The site will contain a Marriott-brand hotel, a public events center and private resort area with pool and water slides. The resort area will be open only to Montecillo residents, and those staying at the hotel.
The as-yet, unnamed resort area will be on approximately four acres, and have a clubhouse, pool with a lazy river, a splash pad, outdoor bars and private cabanas. “We’re trying to appeal to a broad spectrum of individuals, not just to live, but to create their quality of life in Montecillo,” EPT’s David Bogas told the El Paso Times.
Montecillo is El Paso’s first Smart Growth Community, and encompasses land from Mesa Street to Interstate 10. The $700-million development, upon buildout, will include 4,500 residences, as well as retail, restaurants, offices and entertainment venues.
