Ray Wirta Retiring from Irvine Company
Ray Wirta is retiring from the Irvine Company after a distinguished nine-year career of service as corporate President. The highly-respected veteran commercial real estate leader’s responsibilities have included serving on the Newport Beach, CA-based company’s office of the Chairman, along with Chairman Donald Bren and other key executives.
As President, Wirta guided and oversaw the steady growth and management of a large real estate portfolio comprised of master-planned communities, as well as office, retail, resort and apartment properties.
Wirta says, “This has been the business experience of my life. I was given the opportunity to serve with the finest real estate talent in the world, and guided by a Chairman with a vision and energy to execute the Master Plan that this Company created over 60 years ago. The Company is in great condition with a bright future ahead.”
In recognizing Wirta’s announcement, Irvine Company Chairman Donald Bren commented, “Ray has provided steady and strategic guidance to the Company during a tremendous period of growth.”
His career spanned four decades in banking, development and commercial real estate. He joined the Irvine Co. roughly 40 years ago, and subsequently held senior roles at World Savings & Loan in San Francisco, Bank of America’s Premises Corp., Koll Co., as well as what is now CBRE Group.
