R.D. Olson Breaks Ground on $120M Irvine Spectrum Marriott

Newport Beach-based R.D. Olson Development broke ground this week on its latest hotel, the 271-room Irvine Spectrum Marriott. Located at 7905 Gateway in Irvine, the iconic Irvine Ranch-themed hotel is the first full-service property built in the city in the last decade.

The development also represents the first ground-up construction project in the nation, featuring Marriott’s new Millennial-focused design elements. R.D. Olson Construction plans to complete the 15-story, 206,332-square-foot hotel in summer of next year.

Executives from R.D. Olson Development, Irvine Company, Joseph Martelli Real Estate Investments, Inc., project general contractor R.D. Olson Construction, project architect WATG, and Marriott International joined civic leaders, including Irvine Mayor Steven Choi, at the ceremonial groundbreaking.
