Punch Bowl Social Debuts at Former San Diego Boxing Venue
Makers Quarter, a tech and innovation hub in downtown San Diego, is reviving a piece of America’s history through the 
The venue once was a gathering place for Hollywood celebrities, gamblers and city influentials. The Athletic Club’s unique features, including towering barreled wooden roof and repurposed stadium bleachers, serve as a backdrop to a newly reimagined “eatertainment” concept. Design elements include boxing-themed murals, furniture, and wallcoverings.
Developer HP Investors and Lankford & Associates’ highly creative Makers Quarter also includes Block D, a 63,000-square-foot, six-story creative office hub, and seven-story, 265-unit Broadstone Makers Quarter residential development components, which are set to to debut this fall. The development will be downtown San Diego’s first net-zero energy and LEED Platinum certified building.
