PUMA’s First U.S. Brand Store Coming to Fifth Ave.

SL Green Realty has signed a long term, 24,000-square-foot retail lease at 609 Fifth Ave. with sports brand PUMA. The space will be the athletic apparel and footwear-maker’s first North American brand store.

“Fifth Avenue will always be the destination for global flagships among international retailers,” said Brett Herschenfeld, managing director at SL Green. “We are proud to establish this relationship with PUMA, and look forward to ensuring that this distinguished corner continues to thrive as a destination.”

At the 609 Fifth store, PUMA plans to build “an engaging brand experience that we will all be very proud of,” said CEO Bjørn Gulden. In that initiative, the tenant will be aided by SL Green’s recent redevelopment of the property.

Cushman & Wakefield’s Steve Soutendijk, Michael O’Neill, Jason Greenstone, Alan Schmerzler and Sean Moran represented SL Green. PUMA was advised by Robert Gibson and Greg Covey of JLL.
