Public-Private Blockchain Center Launches in Chelsea

New York City Economic Development Corporation has selected FuturePerfect Labs and Global Blockchain Business Council Future to launch and operate the city’s first public-private NYC Blockchain Center, located in Chelsea. The center is intended to help foster New York’s growing blockchain sector, providing shared space, business support and mentorship.

“There is an enormous potential for applications and growth of blockchain technology,” said NYC Council Member Paul Vallone, who chairs the City Council’s economic development committee. “New York City has already positioned itself as a global leader in this field, and the opening of the NYC Blockchain Center will ensure we remain on the forefront of this rapidly-growing industry.”

The center will also provide public education about blockchain across the five boroughs, and convene industry, government, investors, innovators and academia to discuss how New York can foster a regulatory environment that will support both consumer safety and innovation in blockchain.
