Prize for Cantilevered Tower
Madison Square Park Tower is wider at the top than it is at the bottom. The 777-foot-tall ultra-luxury condominium cantilevers over the neighboring six-story building.
“This design strategy presented a greater return on investment for the client, and exceptional homes for future occupants,” according to a release from Stephen DeSimone, president and CEO of DeSimone Consulting Engineers. The company won a “Structural Systems Platinum Award” from the American Council of Engineering Companies of New York for the tower, which was developed by the Continuum Company, with design by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates.
Of the 83 condominiums at the tower, 60 have reportedly already sold, at an average price of $7 million, or $3,500 per square foot, according to StreetEasy.
