Potential NFL Stadium is Already Shaping Carson’s Development

Carson’s proposed 157-acre NFL stadium deal is still uncertain, but the potential for a new stadium is causing real effects. Property values are already rising around the site that seeks to attract the San Diego Chargers or Oakland Raiders.

In fact, the City Council has unanimously banned development in the 600-acre radius surrounding the stadium for the next 45 days. Additionally, the city has forbid any new convenience stores for the next 10 and half months, while plans are still being devised for the city.

By dividing the 600-acres into six regions, city officials hope to attract offices, entertainment-related businesses, high-end restaurants, and car dealerships. Parking lots will clearly be a much-needed necessity if the stadium comes to fruition.

President of Kosmont Cos., Larry Kosmont, stated,  “The stadium brings the opportunity to gather this private sector investment and leverage the current infrastructure you have with freeways to create an international, national and regional destination.” Kosmont Cos. is a financial consultant to the city of Carson.
