Portland Colleges Partner on $100M Academic Building

Portland State University, Oregon Health & Science University and Portland Community College, together with the city of Portland, are partnering on a $100 million academic building near the center of PSU’s campus.

The 200,000-square-building at Southwest Fourth Avenue and Montgomery Street is expected to open in 2020, and will be home to the OHSH-PSU School of Public Health, Portland State’s Graduate School of Education, and dental programs affiliated with PCC. The building will also contain a city bureau.

The site, currently a parking lot, will be acquired by Portland State from the Portland Development Commission. The project will be financed by $51 million in state bonds, and $15 million each from the city, PCC and OHSU-PSU School of Public Health. The ground-breaking date, and development itself, for that matter, will depend on whether the Oregon Legislature approves the $51 million in bonds.
