Plans Unveiled for 100K-SF Robotics Arena
Robotters has partnered with Gensler’s Austin office to develop preliminary renderings of a 90-foot robotics arena, which is slated for Cedar Park, TX. The 100,000-square-foot facility would be designed to host robotic build challenges and fights, as well as drone races and other competitions, and would be the first building of its kind.
As land acquisition negotiations are underway, the developers haven’t yet released the site or construction timeline information. The design parameters, however, include 30,000 square feet of competition space, 35,000 square feet of spectator seating and 6,000 square feet of “maker spaces” and labs. The plans also include a 5,000-square-foot conference area, 5,000 square feet used for administration and event support, and 4,000 square feet of meeting and classroom space.
The development partners indicated that Cedar Park is an ideal location, as it can tap into Austin’s technology sector. Robotters recently sponsored its first annual international festival in Cedar Park.
