Plan for Redevelopment of Maryland’s Beltway Plaza Mall Moves Forward

Mall owner Quantum Cos. is moving forward with plans to redevelop the Beltway Plaza Mall in Greenbelt, MD. into a mixed-use project.

The 54-acre mall is located just inside the Beltway, less than two miles from the Greenbelt Metro station. Currently, the property consists of more than one million square feet of retail as well as two above-ground parking structures. Plans for the redevelopment call for the addition of 2,500 residential units, a reduction of retail to 700,000 square feet and the addition of 20,000 square feet of indoor recreational space. Residential units are slated to consist of a mix of rental and for-sale housing.

Current anchor tenants Target, Giant and AMC Theatres are expected to return following the redevelopment. Additional tenants at the property include Marshalls, Burlington, T.J. Maxx, Five Below and Planet Fitness.

In March of 2019, The Prince George’s County Planning Board approved conceptual plans for the project. A preliminary plan and subdivision is currently under review from the Greenbelt City Council.
