Pilsen Apartments Trade Along Chicago Retail Corridor

Essex Realty Group arranged the sale of 1328 W. 18th St., a nine-unit mixed-use property located in the West Side’s increasingly popular Pilsen neighborhood. The firm’s Jim Darrow and Jordan Gottlieb were the brokers on the transaction, which went under contract in less than 30 days.

The eight apartment units feature a variety of finishes, updated in-unit electric panels, and exposed brick and ductwork. The retail tenant, a local law firm, occupies 2,300 square feet on the first floor.

1328 W. 18th St. is situated in the heart of a rapidly-changing section of Pilsen, according to Essex Realty. Several new restaurants, bars, salons and shops have opened in the surrounding blocks over the past few years, creating a popular retail corridor for neighborhood residents.

The purchase price was $1,410,000. The buyer and seller were both private local partnerships.
