Philip Barnes Appointed to Leadership Role at Fairmont Century Plaza

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts named Philip Barnes Regional Vice President, Southern California and General Manager of the Fairmont Century Plaza. Barnes brings more than four decades of international hospitality experience to his role at the revitalized property set to debut next month.

Barnes has worked across five continents in some of the world’s most sought-after destinations. He joins Fairmont Century Plaza from his most recent position as Managing Director and Regional Vice President, The Savoy in London, A Fairmont Managed Hotel, where he has been stationed since 2016.

Over his career, Barnes has held a number of positions with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, including, Regional Vice President Middle East, Regional Vice President Pacific Northwest and General Manager Fairmont Pacific Rim, as well as Regional Vice President and General Manager roles in both Canada and the Middle East.

Barnes also spent more than ten years with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, and also served at Stamford Hotels & Resorts in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.

Dennis has also worked on communications and launch strategies for a number of consumer electronic, media and tech brands including SlingMedia, Channel Master, Deluxe Media Entertainment, BeIn Sports, EchoStar and Sprint. Dennis’s agency background included firms such as Off Madison Ave., Idea Hall and Macy + Associates. He has earned an outstanding reputation with organization leaders as a trusted advisor, strategic program implementer, consensus builder and exceptional collaborator. Dennis has developed and managed national communications programs for Fortune 500 companies to start-ups, both public and private. He’s successfully worked with journalists across the globe representing clients involved in major-breaking news stories, product launches, media tours, and company news announcements.
