Performance Resort, Spa Planned at Orlando’s Lake Nona

Tavistock Group, the master planner behind Orlando’s Lake Nona community, and its Tavistock Development Co. division, plan to develop a new eight-story Lake Nona Resort featuring 250 guest rooms and 80 condos. The development site is located on the southern shore of Lake Nona, near the USTA National Campus.

Tavistock Development Company’s Jim Zboril says, “With Orlando now approaching 70 million annual visitors, it is a very competitive hotel market with many exceptional properties and operators. Our focus is on sports and performance, and we believe this is the first-of-its-kind performance-driven resort created from scratch in the United States.”

The resort is envisioned to include 20,000 square feet of meeting space, a major fitness and spa campus, a 120,000-square-foot beach volleyball venue and a 15-acre water feature, one the nation’s largest man-made crystal clear lagoons.

Construction is slated to commence next year, with a planned 2020 opening.
