Parts Distributor Signs for 125K SF in Northwest IN
Avison Young negotiated a 125,000-square-foot industrial lease at AmeriPlex at the Crossroads, 9401 Georgia St. in Merrillville, IN. The lease is in a Class A, 279,000-square-foot speculative building being developed by Crow Holdings Industrial, the developer’s 11th spec property in the Chicago market since opening its Midwest regional office in 2018.
The space was leased to Midwest Truck and Auto Parts, a 70-year-old truck and auto parts distributor with locations in five states. Midwest is expanding into the Northwest Indiana property, and anticipates creating up to 150 new jobs by the end of 2024.
Adam Haefner, Zeke Rowan and Marty Mikaitis of Avison Young’s Rosemont, IL office represented the tenant. Avison Young will also be the exclusive leasing agents for the balance of the building.
“The new building offers tremendous efficiencies that will allow the tenant to benefit from modern functionality while also lowering operating costs,” said Rowan.
