Palm Springs Approves Dream Hotel
The Palm Springs City Council approved the Dream Hotel, a 171-room hotel north of the convention center. Developer Selene Palm Springs plans a five-story, arc-shaped hotel building with 34 condo units.
The 7.8-acre site will include a raised-bed garden area and event space. The property will include three swimming pools, two restaurants, spa, 230-car underground parking garage, and 10 detached one-story villas.
A city incentive program will rebate 75% of the hotel bed taxes for 10 years, or until the amount rebated reaches $50 million.
The site’s long history spans a decade, including the most recently proposed Dolce Hotel in 2013. The Dream Hotel is expected to break ground by September, and open by December 2018.
