P&Z Approves Three CRE Projects in Midland

The Midland, TX Planning and Zoning Commission approved three commercial real estate developments in various parts of town. The following projects got the nod:

• A mixed-use development at Tradewinds Boulevard and Thomason Drive, under the direction of Pontikes Development, the development arm of Satterfield & Pontikes Construction Inc. The initial zoning of 46.4 acres will eventually hold multifamily product, along with retail and office space.

• Overlook at Tradewinds, a 216-unit apartment complex designed by Parkhill, Smith and Cooper, is in its final plat stage; groundbreaking is anticipated for early fall 2019.

• A zone change from planned district (PD) to an amended PD on 1.9 acres at Deauville and Tradewinds Boulevards. The request was submitted by Newton Engineering, and the replat will accommodate a new hotel.
