Organic Grocer Expands Beyond Orange County
Costa Mesa, CA-based Mother’s Market & Kitchen is expanding outside of its original base in Orange County, where it has seven stores. The organic grocer plans to add two stores next year, one in Signal Hill and another in Manhattan Beach.
The Signal Hill location will anchor Heritage Square, a new center located at 2475 Cherry Ave. The store is slated to open in early 2018. The store in Manhattan Beach will be located at 1700 Rosecrans Ave., and is planned to open in the summer of 2018.
A group of yoga enthusiasts founded Mother’s in 1978. The original Mother’s owners and employees remain investors in the company, though in early 2016 Connecticut-based private equity firm, Mill Road Capital, took a majority stake in Mother’s.
