Ontario Airport Sees Passenger-Traffic Rise

To learn more about issues such as the one detailed below, check out the Connect Inland Empire conference on Sept. 10 at Victoria Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga.

Things are looking up for the Ontario International Airport.

Passenger traffic rose just over 1.5 percent year over year due to increased flights to Mexico. There were 367,236 passengers last month, and there was a 73-percent rise in international flights as well. However, the domestic-flight number was down 0.4 percent.

AeroMexico added flights to Mexico City in April. Meanwhile, Volaris upped its flights to Guadalajara.

Just over four-million people flew out of the airport last year, a boost from the 3.9 million the prior year. However, it’s still way short of the 7.2 million in 2007.
