Onni’s Times Mirror Square MXU Takes Shape

Early Bird Alert: Connect Apartments is planned September 28th in Los Angeles. Here’s where to get more information and register.

The redevelopment of Times Mirror Square is coming into clearer focus with the latest update to city planning documents. Onni Group’s proposed mixed-use project of 53 and 37 story residential towers would rise on top of a five-story podium with roughly 34,500 square feet of retail and parking space.

The new buildings will add roughly 1.1 million square feet and more than 1,100 residential units. A landscaped, open-air pedestrian paseo, featuring restaurants and outdoor seating, will bisect the site between the new towers and the existing historic components of Times Mirror Square.

The original 1930s and 1940s buildings will be retained and renovated at the 3.6-acre site along Broadway between 1st and 2nd streets. Those buildings will contain a mix of 285,000 square feet of creative office space, with retail and grocery on the ground floors.

If all goes as planned, construction would commence in 2019, and delivery in 2023.
