Onetime Lumber Yard Turned High-End Rental Poised for Pre-lease
Germain House, an adaptive re-use of a former industrial building in River West, will begin pre-leasing later this year, developer Rockwell Partners said Wednesday. Luxury Living Chicago Realty is the exclusive marketing and leasing brokerage for the new rental apartment property at 925 W. Chicago Ave.
“While Chicago’s market is filled with new inventory, Germain House will undoubtedly appeal to renters seeking a unique apartment living experience,” said Aaron Galvin, CEO of Luxury Living Chicago. “More and more renters are including River West in their search, and this boutique building will stand out.”
Just east of the CTA’s Blue Line station, Germain House offers a mix of studio, one, and two-bedroom units, featuring exposed brick and beams with high-end finishes.
Built as a lumber yard in 1886, Germain House’s location became home in 1916 to the Central Leather & Embossing Company, which later changed its name to the Germain Company.
