On the Market: The 40K-Acre Swenson Ranch Flat Top Division

A 165-year-old working ranch in West Texas has made it to the market, and is being offered at an asking price of $49.2 million. Specifically, the 40,000-acre Swenson Ranch Flat Top Division in Stamford, TX is being marketed by Chas S. Middleton and Son; the asking price includes a ranching operation, the Taylor Camp, farm center, and oil/mineral rights.

The ranch is owned by descendants of Swante Magnus Swenson, who was the first Swedish immigrant to come to Texas. Swenson and his family settled on the land in 1853. “This is the first time in its 165-year history that the ranch is to be offered for purchase,” Chas S. Middleton and Son’s Cody Hutchison told the Dallas Morning News. He added that it’s seldom that a ranch the size of Flat Top Division is available.

The ranch offers hunting and fishing opportunities, as well as income streams from cultivation and cattle.
