On the Market: The 18,000-Acre La Bandera Ranch

The 18,000-acre La Bandera Ranch in South Texas is up for sale, at an asking price of $54 million. The ranch is in Dimmit County, approximately two hours south of San Antonio, and offers three lodges, totaling 46 bedrooms. According to Whitetail Properties, which is marketing the property, the ranch provides a wildlife and hunting mecca. For those who prefer to fly instead of drive, La Bandera offers a 5,000-foot paved and lighted runway, with a 14,000-square-foot aircraft hangar.

While hunting is a main source of income, other sources of revenue include water, surface damages and oil and gas productions. The seller, La Bandera Ranch LP of North Texas (led by Bob Hixson of Hixson Lumber Manufacturing), has restricted oil and gas wells to specific areas of the ranch, to not disturb hunting operations. Mineral rights are not included with the sale. The property is at 3662 FM 3252 in Carrizo Springs, TX.
