OMSI’s 2M-SF Development Plan Advances on PDX Waterfront

A plan to develop as much as two million square feet on land surrounding Portland’s Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) is under review by the city’s Design Commission. The masterplan encompasses a mix of uses including residential and commercial space covering 18.53 acres along the riverfront and is envisioned to complement OMSI’s existing facilities and operations.

The latest plan from ZGF Architects works to create a new, innovative and sustainable district. Portland’s Gerding Edlen was selected as the master developer for the project last year.

OMSI owns most of the land, currently either vacant or used as surface parking. Two additional parcels not owned by OMSI, including a Portland General Electric substation, are envisioned to be incorporated into the development.

Existing site zoning allows for up to 250-foot tall buildings. Proposed scenarios include one with two towers, one with a single tower and another with a mix of tower configurations.

Connect Seattle is set for November 7th at Coterie Worklounge. Plan to join us for the afternoon of CRE conversations and networking. You can find out more information and register on this link.
