Oakley Leaves Ontario For Atlanta

Sunglasses and sportswear maker Oakley Inc. will close its distribution operation in Ontario, moving it to Atlanta as part of an overall company consolidation plan. Massimo Vian, chief executive officer for Luxottica, parent company of Oakley, recently outlined the plans during an earnings conference call.

“We are tripling the size of our distribution center,” he said. We will transfer all the operations into Atlanta and Atlanta will be the only distribution hub for North America and Mexico.”

The move will reportedly be completed by year’s end. It is not known how many employees might be affected by the closure in Ontario.
