Oakland Tribune Tower Among Trio of Buildings For Sale
Three Oakland office assets associated with embattled businessman Tom Henderson are being offered for sale, including the city’s iconic Oakland Tribune Tower. The other two assets on the block are the Community Bank of the East Bay building and the Dufwin Theater.
The sales are related to a dispute between former partners in the CallSocket call centers. A lawsuit filed last year by Henderson’s former business partner, Allan Young, alleges that funds were improperly diverted by Henderson to acquire the buildings. A special receiver was brought in at Young’s request to help resolve the dispute.
Colliers International’s Aileen Dolby is handling the asset disposition. Marketing materials indicate the property is being “sold on an ‘as is, where is’ basis.” They also note that sales are subject to court approval.
