O.C., U.S. Housing Upswing Shines Globally

Despite the constant worry we have domestically about the housing industry’s rebound since the Great Recession, the United States, and Orange County in particular, is having a housing upswing that many other countries would envy.

After inflation, U.S. housing prices were up by 17 percent over the past four years, according to Global Property Guide. It was the eighth best increase in the world, on a scale of 33 countries.

The world’s top housing market over the past four years? It was the United Arab Emirates, which saw a 56-percent price jump over the last four years. Hong Kong was second, up 38 percent.
