NYC to Landlord: We’re Coming for You

The City of New York continues to lean on the landlords with the worst records. Mayor Bill de Blasio recently called out the owner of 750 Grand Concourse in Bronx, NY, in a statement from City Hall, announcing the City’s intention to take over the building.

“After deploying numerous tools to address persistent problems at this building, we are working with housing advocates and tenants to lodge an action against the landlord to take over operations” said Mayor de Blasio. “We stand with the tenants. We will not rest until we’ve exhausted every measure to ensure the health and safety of these residents.”

The building was recently included in the City Alternative Enforcement program, which lists the 250 buildings in the city with the most violations.
