NY, NJ, CT Double Roster of States with Quarantine Mandate
The governors of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut on Tuesday doubled the number of states under a travel advisory mandating a 14-day quarantine for inbound travelers. Newly added were California, Georgia, Iowa, Idaho, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada and Tennessee.
These eight states joined Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas and Utah, which were announced on June 24. All 16 states have seen a positive COVID-19 test rate higher than 10 per 100,000 residents over a seven-day rolling average or a 10% or higher positivity rate over a seven-day rolling average.
“Working together as a region has proven to be immensely successful as our respective states are leading the country when it comes to our response with low infection and positivity rates relative to increased testing capacity,” Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont said week. Lamont is working with New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy.
