NY Developer Pursuing 35-Story Tower Atop Historic One Montgomery
New York-based 601W Cos. proposed a 35-story mixed-use tower atop an historic building at One Montgomery St. in San Francisco’s Financial District. The developer envisions a roughly 266,250-square-foot, 500-foot tall structure rising above the two-story historic property.
The 1908-era building, former HQ of Crocker National Bank, and currently occupied by Wells Fargo & Co., will be preserved and renovated.
There are three project concepts being explored, including one that features 234 hotel rooms and five market-rate residential units on the top five floors; another featuring 152 hotel rooms and 23 market-rate residential units; and one that includes 52 market-rate residential units without hotel rooms.
601W Cos. bought One Montgomery St. for $48 million in 2011. The architect for the project is San Francisco-based Charles Bloszies.
