NorthPoint Plans TDL Center for Republic Steel Site
There’s still time to register for Connect Industrial, taking place on July 11 in Chicago. Here’s a link for more information about the conference and to register.
A $169-million transportation, distribution and logistics (TDL) center will come to the city’s Southeast Side under plans announced by NorthPoint Development’s Nathaniel Hagedorn (at podium) and the Emanuel administration. To be built on 196 acres, the new TDL center is planned for the former Republic Steel site.
The 2.2.-million-square-foot project, subject to Chicago Plan Commission approval, is planned to include six buildings ranging from 215,000 to 600,000 square feet. It will complement Kansas City, MO-based NorthPoint’s adjacent, 155-acre supplier park serving Ford’s nearby Torrence Avenue assembly plant, thereby creating one of the largest industrial parks in Chicago.
“This is a major project that will create good jobs in the 10th ward,” said Ald. Sue Sadlowski Garza. “And even more than that, it demonstrates the progress we are making to strengthen the ward and drive new investment and economic growth.”
