North Texas Airports Bigger than Austin, Houston & SA Combined
If you routinely fly in and out of Dallas/Fort Worth International and Dallas Love Field, it’ll come as no surprise that those two airports are busier than the four major airports in Austin, Houston, and San Antonio combined.
Airline Analytics firm OAG crunched the data and found that seat capacity for scheduled flights flown out of DFW and Love from May 2017 to April 2018 reached 49.9 million combined. During that same period, the capacity at Austin-Bergstrom International, George Bush Intercontinental and William P. Hobby in Houston, and San Antonio International was 48.5 million.
The fastest-growing airport in Texas is Austin-Bergstrom. In fact, it ranked second in the entire country for the highest growth rate with 16%, according to OAG. (The fastest-growing airport was Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International.)
