NewMark Merrill Secures Small-Format Target in Anaheim
Target plans to open a third small-format store in Orange County next year, in a former Kmart that is slated for closure in July 2017. The new 40,000-square-foot Target will be located in NewMark Merrill Companies’ Anaheim Town Square at 2222 E. Lincoln Ave. in Anaheim.
Other mini-Targets are slated to open in Irvine in July 2017 and Orange in October 2017. The Irvine store is at 4255 Campus Dr., in a former 24 Hour Fitness, while the Orange store is at 2512 East Chapman Ave., in a former Ralphs store.
Target’s strategy with the concept is to increase its presence in urban markets and near college campuses. The retailer is planning to open more than 130 small-format stories by the end of 2019.
