NewMark Merrill Nabs Shops at SouthBay Pavillion
Woodland Hills, CA-based NewMark Merrill Companies, Inc. purchased multiple retail buildings at SouthBay Pavilion in Carson from Seritage SRC Finance, LLC. They are known as The Shops at SouthBay Pavilion and encompass 182,193 square feet of space.
NewMark Merrill Companies’ Sandy Sigal says, “Despite the current COVID crisis and evolution of retail, NewMark Merrill believes that The Shops at SouthBay Pavilion is integral to the community and will become an iconic destination for years to come. The proof is in the last six months through this crisis, the center has continued to attract shoppers, the tenants have continued to adapt, and the center is operating at a very high level.”
The assets are leased to such tenants as Burlington, Ross Dress for Less, Smashburger, Buffalo Wild Wings and Olive Garden. The balance of the one-million-square-foot mall is anchored by IKEA, Target, Cinemark Theaters and JC Penny.
NewMark Merrill will work to stabilize the asset, add additional quality tenants and position the center as a destination in the South Bay market.
