New Wurstfest Marktplatz Renderings Debuted

In late 2019, a fire destroyed Wurstfest’s Marktplatz in New Braunfels, site of the city’s annual Wurstfest celebration. The organization is in the process of rebuilding the facility, with the Marktplatz Rebuild Committee and MarmonMok Architecture recently showing renderings and construction updates, with construction on the new building scheduled to launch in spring 2020.

The Marktplatz is Wurstfest’s food hall, and the new building will be separate from Wursthalle, which also sustained damage in the fire. A key component of the rehabilitation will be upgraded and expanded restrooms. The building will also meets the city’s code; the previous Marktplatz did not.

The new Marktplatz and Wursthalle will be completed by Wurstfest, which will take place at 178 Landa Park Dr. on Nov.  6-15, 2020.
