New Norco Hotel Approved, But Must “Cowboy Up”
Texas-based Sahil Investment Group’s proposed 90-room Holiday Inn hotel received Norco Planning Commission approval. The caveat is that the final design must incorporate more western-themed elements into the four-story property in California’s Inland Empire.
The city seeks to create a “rural atmosphere”, with regulations that reflect a Western theme. The architecture must be rural, informal, traditional, rustic, low-profile and equestrian oriented.
The commission approved the project as an incentive for the developer to continue pursuing the hotel to meet a need in the city. Since the opening of the 122-acre Silverlakes Equestrian and Sports Park in Norco last year, there’s been a demand for hotels to accommodate visitors.
