Nasdaq to Move Global HQ to NYC’s 4 Times Square
Nasdaq Inc. signed a lease to relocate its global headquarters to The Durst Organization’s 4 Times Square, a 48-story tower in New York City’s midtown. The company is taking 145,000 square feet at a building that houses its Nasdaq MarketSite, where it broadcasts market opening and closing bell ceremonies. It will relocate all its operations from 1 Liberty St. in downtown by 2021.
The Times Square building at 151 West 42nd St. was built in 1999 and recently underwent $140 million in renovations that entailed a new entrance and lobby, as well as other upgrades. The stock market exchange is expanding its existing 24,000-square-foot MarketSite space. It will create a state-of-the-art event space on the 10th floor with a 2,100-square-foot outdoor terrace overlooking Times Square.
NKF’s Michael Ippolito and Cushman & Wakefield’s Robert Tanzman represented the tenant. The landlord was self-represented.
