Musk’s Hyperloop One on the Right Track Forward

Elon Musk’s Hyperloop One, the start-up with a mission to bring ultra-high-speed transportation to reality, is moving forward on the concept. The company made two major announcements recently: a full system test will be conducted within three months, and announced 35 finalists from its global challenge to find engineers/planners to build the best route.

There were 2,600 entries in the competition, and the finalists hail from 17 different countries. The next step for the finalists is to meet at three different showcases to pitch their ideas. Hyperloop One’s CEO Rob Lloyd, has said that they want to see three routes in production within the next five years.

Additionally, in the within three months, Hyperloop One is looking to test pushing a low-pressure pod 500 meters, and will add more kilometers onto the test in 2017.
