Multimillion-Dollar World Trade Center Denver Moves Forward with New Partners
The World Trade Center Denver project in the city’s River Arts North (RiNo) district is moving forward once again, as new partners signed on to develop its office and hotel towers. Formativ, which is heading the mixed-use project, hired Golub & Co. to co-develop a $180-million, 14-story, 350,000-square-foot office. Kemmons Wilson Cos. will co-own and develop the project’s nine-story, 240,000-square-foot hospitality project, which will include a conference center and 240-key hotel, at an estimated cost of $114 million.
The project, located in one of Denver’s Opportunity Zones at Walnut and 38th streets, was first announced in 2016. Dirt was expected to move on the project site in winter 2017, but part of the delay was due to ensuring understanding of the Opportunity Zone legislation. With the regulations understood, and developers signed on, groundbreaking on the 2.1-acre site is expected to take place before the end of 2019.
