More Reasons to Visit Suburban Retail: Health

Shoppers will soon have another reason to visit The Shoppes at the Livingston Circle, as CycleBar, a national boutique fitness chain, has signed a lease for a 3,200-square-foot location.

“Affordable fitness concepts create a unique shopping experience at retail centers, while generating considerable consumer traffic,” said Peter Schofel, managing partner for Eastman Companies, developer and manager of the 93,000-square-foot shopping center, located at 277 Eisenhower Pkwy. in Livingston, NJ.

Early this year, The Shoppes lost The Fresh Market, the small format grocery store that once filled 23,000-square feet. The landlord is fighting back, however, by signing up tenants that provide experiences beyond shopping — like the swimming school that signed for 8,100 square feet in February.

Ripco Real Estate Corp. represented the landlord in the CycleBar transaction, while the Dartmouth Company advised the tenant.
