Microsoft Planning $28M Expansion to Data Center
Microsoft Corp. is planning a $28 million expansion to a data center once owned by Chevron USA. The tech giant is planning a commercial addition to the property at 5200 Rogers Rd., which it acquired from Chevron in October 2017.
Records also show Microsoft’s plan to build two additional data centers, totaling 104,837 square feet, on the property. The two projects were scheduled to begin in November 2019, with completion estimated by August 2020.
According to a permit filed with the city of San Antonio, the construction will focus on one full build-out and a shell building, plus a metal building connector corridor. Also included was an equipment service yard with an acoustical fence enclosure.
Corgan Associates is the design firm hired for the work.
