MF Rent Growth in Dallas Could Top 3% During 2018

Yardi Matrix recently reported that, on a national basis, apartment rent growth surged to 2.9% in June 2018. In Texas, growth was more moderate, though Houston reported a 3.9% year-over-year increase.

Looking at the forecast, however, Houston’s 2018 rent growth rate is anticipated to fall. Dallas, in the meantime, is expected to have rent growth of 3.1% for the entire year, topping the four Texas metros. The Yardi report didn’t focus on specific reasons as to why the Houston forecast might drop, though did indicate that the post-Hurricane Harvey pop was likely at an end.
