McCormick Place Will Get 2.6M-SF Smart Floor System
The nation’s largest convention facility is getting smart technology to glean data from floor traffic. Scanalytics Inc. is partnering with McCormick Place to install a smart floor system across the facility’s entire 2.6 million square feet of exhibit space.
The goal is making it easy for the convention center to precisely measure usage, movement, interaction and visitor behavior.
“Providing quality data to trade show organizers and exhibitors makes McCormick Place and Chicago more competitive in attracting conventions, events and meetings,” said CEO Lori Healey of the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority, which operates McCormick Place.
“In addition to enabling McCormick to operate more intelligently through data, Scanalytics provides event analytics and engagement tools to exhibitors that help them best understand visitor behavior, increase engagement with their offerings and improve design effectiveness,” said Joe Scanlin, co-founder and CEO of the company, which recently relocated its headquarters to Chicago from Wisconsin.
