McAlister’s Deli on Track for Texas Growth

Fast-casual chain McAlister’s Deli signed a new development deal with Best Choice Restaurants, an affiliate of franchisee Sun Holdings Inc. The deal effectively puts new McAlister’s Deli restaurants in Texas, Florida, Louisiana and New Mexico, in addition to developing 47 restaurants over the next seven years. Specifically, the plan is to place 36 additional restaurants in the Lone Star State.

Specific Texas metros were not specified.

Sun Holdings, overseen by multi-unit operator Guillermo Perales, operates Burger King, Arby’s, Golden Corral, CiCi’s, Krispy Kreme, T-Mobile, Taco Bueno, McAlister’s Deli and GNC locations across the country. According to the McAlister’s website, the company prefers end cap or inline shopping locations and free-standing pads.

McAlister’s currently has 18 operational locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, as well as 10 locations in the Houston area, two in Austin, and five each in San Antonio and Midland-Odessa.
