MBIRE’s Real Estate Gala Goes Virtual on Nov. 5
The 19th Annual Real Estate Gala for the Marshall Bennett Institute of Real Estate at Roosevelt University (MBIRE) in Chicago will be held virtually this year on Nov. 5. It will feature a fireside chat between two women making impacts in commercial real estate diversity: Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle and Collete English Dixon, executive director of MBIRE and the first woman of color to lead a university-based real estate education program in the U.S.
The event will also honor Leon I. Walker, managing partner of DL3 Realty, with the 2020 Industry Changemaker Award Honoree. Walker has spearheaded numerous developments on Chicago’s South Side, bringing hundreds of jobs, as well as grocery stores and healthcare services to underserved communities.
Established in 2002, MBIRE offers master’s and undergraduate degrees as well as certificate programs in real estate. The Annual Real Estate Gala is the largest fundraiser supporting MBIRE.
