Matt Reid Memorial Fund Established Following Tragic Surfing Accident
The Thorofare Capital Family lost a valued member of its Credit Team, Matt Reid. On June 6th, Reid tragically lost his life in a surfing accident, leaving behind wife Kelly and their two young children, Sloane (4 years old) and Max (1 year old).
Reid served as Director of Credit for Thorofare Capital, and brought more than a decade of experience in the commercial real estate finance industry. Prior to joining Thorofare, Reid was a Vice President in the CMBS group at credit rating agency DBRS, where he was responsible for rating new issue securitizations including conduit, agency and CRE CLO transactions.
In memory of Reid, and in support of his family, a Go Fund Me page has been setup. All proceeds raised will go directly to Kelly, Sloane, and Max to help them mitigate the unforeseen costs related to Matt’s passing, and to help support them in the months to come.
Thorofare Capital’s Kevin Miller says, “He was warm and open. He was the friend inviting the new guy in the office on a fishing trip; the loving dad ready to dress up as a pumpkin for his kids at Halloween; and the doting husband planning a surprise birthday party for his wife in a tropical paradise. His friends and family meant the world to him.”
Miller added, “Matt was a husband, a dad, a son, a brother, and most of all, a friend. Matt was a highly valued member of our team and he will be greatly missed.”
