Massive Prairie Shores Complex Comes onto the Market
Developer Draper & Kramer has hired HFF to market the 20-acre Prairie Shores complex. At 1,675 units it would be Chicago’s largest multifamily property to trade since Presidential Towers changed hands in 2007, Crain’s Chicago Business reported.
HFF is pitching Prairie Shores as an opportunity to place a big bet on an emerging Chicago neighborhood close to Lake Michigan, Crain’s reported. The property is a few blocks south of McCormick Square. It also sits in an Opportunity Zone.
“Prairie Shores is nestled between the South Loop, McCormick Square, Chinatown and Bronzeville,” HFF says in a marketing brochure. “This blossoming community is flourishing from a momentum of development, population growth, income influx, and new entertainment destinations—including the new Wintrust Arena, Historic Motor Row, McCormick Place and exciting new hotel and culinary options.”
