Massive Mixed-Use Legacy West Officially Opens
More than three years after its groundbreaking, the $3 billion, mixed-use Legacy West development in Plano, TX, officially opened on June 2, 2017. The 250-acre project is being developed by Karahan Cos., KDC and Columbus Realty Partners.
The ribbon-cutting debuted the Legacy West Urban Village, with more than 300,000 square feet of shops and restaurants, as well as approximately 300,000 square feet of office space, more than 1,000 apartment units and a high-rise hotel. Most of the office space, along with the retail and restaurant center, are already leased.
What was originally supposed to be a 10-year project is almost out of land, thanks to corporate relocations Liberty Mutual, J.P. Morgan Chase and Boeing.
